Emergency note: Conscious Africa is not an emergency service. Use local emergency or crisis resources when urgent help is needed.
1. Using Conscious Africa
These Terms govern your access to consciousafrica.com and the services, directories, planning tools, community features, booking pathways, and communications made available through Conscious Africa. By using the platform, creating an account, submitting a form, or making a booking, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or enter a paid transaction unless a parent or legal guardian is involved. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep account access details secure.
2. Wellness information is not medical care
Conscious Africa supports discovery and matching. Content, planner results, recommendations, community discussions, and automated guidance are for general wellbeing information and are not medical diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, or emergency care.
Always use your own judgment and seek an appropriately qualified professional for personal medical or mental-health decisions. If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In Kenya, call 112 or 999.
3. Practitioners, hosts, spaces, and third parties
Practitioners, facilitators, event hosts, venues, businesses, and other providers are independent parties unless explicitly stated otherwise. Profiles, verification indicators, reviews, availability, and pricing help discovery but are not a guarantee of suitability, outcome, licence status, or uninterrupted service.
Before beginning care or attending an experience, you should review the provider's qualifications, scope, safeguarding approach, cancellation terms, and whether the service is appropriate for your needs.
4. Bookings, prices, payments, and refunds
The total price, currency, deposit, material service details, provider identity, availability, and applicable cancellation or refund terms should be shown or expressly confirmed before you complete a payment. Payments may be processed by third-party providers such as Paystack or M-Pesa and are also subject to their terms.
For practitioner and business or venue accounts, Conscious Africa charges a 35% lead-generation fee on the first completed booking between a client account and a provider account. Repeat bookings are charged at 10% for paid practitioner and paid business or venue plans, or 20% for the free commission-only Practitioner Starter plan. The applicable rate is recorded when the provider payable is prepared; refunds, payment-processing charges, taxes, and previously completed settlements are handled separately and are not retroactively recalculated.
Provider-specific cancellation terms may apply only when they were clearly disclosed before the booking. Mandatory consumer rights are not limited by these Terms. Where cancellation or a refund is available, contact hello@consciousafrica.com with the booking reference. We may require identity, booking, and payment verification, and we do not control third-party bank or mobile-money settlement times.
5. Accounts and acceptable conduct
You may not misuse the platform, impersonate another person, scrape or resell directory data, bypass access controls, upload malware, harass others, make fraudulent bookings, publish unlawful or harmful content, or interfere with platform availability.
Community spaces require respectful, confidential, and safety-conscious participation. We may moderate content, restrict features, suspend access, or preserve evidence where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with law, or maintain platform integrity.
6. Your content and communications
You retain ownership of information and content you submit. You give Conscious Africa permission to store, process, display, and transmit it only as reasonably needed to provide the requested service, operate the platform, support safety review, and meet legal obligations.
Do not submit content you do not have the right to share. Testimonials, reviews, and public profile material may be edited for clarity or removed where they are misleading, unsafe, unlawful, or inconsistent with community standards.
7. Intellectual property
The Conscious Africa name, brand assets, platform design, original editorial content, software, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. You may use the platform for its intended personal or professional purpose, but may not reproduce or commercially exploit protected materials without permission.
8. Availability and limitation of responsibility
We work to keep the platform accurate, safe, and available, but it is provided on an as-available basis. Features, listings, and integrations may change, and interruptions or errors may occur.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Conscious Africa is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, outcomes of independent provider services, third-party acts, or events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Privacy, changes, and contact
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. We may update these Terms as the platform, regulations, or services evolve. Material changes will be communicated through the website or account channels, and the effective date below will be updated.
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Kenya, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Questions, concerns, and formal notices can be sent to hello@consciousafrica.com.
