She explored various styles over more than 8 years hatha, power, dharma yoga, ashtanga, and even aerial yoga but it wasnt until she discovered meditation, vinyasa flows and yin yoga she found her calling. Being hypermobile, it changed her perspective and mindset surrounding health and physical movement and that every body is unique, something she is mindful of in each session (either group settings or one on one private sessions), approaching a balance between effort and surrender, ea 15pm.

Reiki comes from the word Rei - meaning Universal life and Ki meaning energy. It is an ancient Japanese healing modality that is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy. All living beings have this life force energy running through them and as a Reiki practitioner I understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves. It is believed that a persons ki or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a persons mind and body is in a positive state of health and balance. When the energy is weak or blocked, it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance. Come and try a session of Reiki as it is a great tool for stress reduction, promotes relaxation and increase energy and mental clarity.

Yoga outdoors on Mondays

Come enjoy outdoor Vinyasa yoga sessions every Monday at 5.30pm at Ikigai Lower Kabete as we start and end the week grounded, centered and charged through breathing, meditation and movement on our mats. Please bring your own mats and any other props you may require (blocks, straps etc). Yin Yoga and Meditation

Yin Yoga and Meditation

Yin yoga is a balance of stillness and surrender on our mats, as we target deeper layers within - ie. the connective tissues, ligaments, giving our bodies time and space to breathe and stretch. Typically poses are held for between 3 -5min with props at hand to aid in finding the shape best suited for your body and needs. This is a slow, mindful, contemplative, meditative practice with deep healing benefits. Perfect balance to our generally yang lifestyles. Come yin out with me!

We slide into a Yoga Nidra meditation practice , setting intentions, allowing our entire bodies to rest further to allow improved cortisol (stress hormone) levels, reduce anxiety and stress related aches and pains, also improving mental clarity, emotional regulation and is a deeply healing meditative practice.
